I've made two positive announcements for Quinte Health Care hospitals in the past two weeks.  On June 10, I announced a 6.1-per-cent base funding increase for 2020-2021 that includes annualized funding increases for the hospital as well as $4.5 million to increase the regional ICU space in Belleville to accommodate four more beds.

On June 19, I announced that the campaign to build a new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital can move to Stage 3 of the five-step redevelopment approvals process.  That means QHC will be able to begin detailed design work on the block schematics of the new 18-bed facility.  The community has pledged over $11.3 million toward its $16.5-million fundraising goal.  The government's share of funding for the new hospital is anticipated to exceed $80 million.
